Manny Pacquiao will get Knocked Out in court
Can’t you just see the headlines when Manny loses his ridiculous lawsuit?
How ironic that the cocky/loud mouth Floyd Mayweather has stayed quiet during all of this and watched Team Pacquiao unravel themselves. Pacquiao is going to have a hard time troubling Mayweather with this “slander” lawsuit (which everyone knows is just a ploy to draw attention away from his own suspicious behavior) when Mayweather Jr. hasnt made any comments regarding his alleged steroid abuse.
This is a really stupid move by Pacquiao unless they are just using this as a negotiating ploy to make Mayweather drop his demands for blood testing throughout the training period. This lawsuit opens Manny Pacquiao up to so much investigation about his training techniques and others who believe and have stated that he uses PEDs.
If I were the lawyer representing Mayweather I would file a quick answer denying that Pacquiao has suffered any damages as a result of any statements made and asserting that as an affirmative defense that any statements that may have been made are in fact true.
I would then immediately schedule depositions with Manny Pacquiao himself, Freddie Roach, all of his former training partners, and anybody else who has been in any way involved in his training over the last ten years. I would also schedule a deposition of Arum and ask him about any and all conversations that he had with Pacquiao and any of his representatives about why they will not agree to the testing (this should delve a little farther than the public relations spin that they have tried to put on this).
I would then make the focus of our case that if Pacquiao is truly clean why won’t he agree to testing (this will resonate with a jury who doesn’t follow boxing). I would also immediately petition the Court to require Pacquiao to submit to random blood testing throughout the pending lawsuit. Pacquiao will surely fight that and the Judge would be unlikely to grant it, but again the fact that they fought the testing would resonate with the jury.
Pacquiao has got to understand that he has to prove that he has never used drugs. Mayweather does not have to prove that he is dirty! Pacquiao has to prove that he is clean. And given that he is unwilling to submit to tests a jury is going to have a hard time believing that. Additionally, because Pacquiao is a public figure he can’t just prove that it was unreasonable to think that he was on drugs, he has to prove that they knew that he was clean.
This is a tremendous burden. It is not as if he just has to prove he didn’t use drugs on a particular day or at a particular time. He has to prove that he never used PEDs and he has to prove that they knew he didn’t use them. And even if he is able to prove that, in order to obtain damages he has to prove that the allegations actually cost him money.
Forgive me if I have missed something, but I am not aware of any opportunity that has been denied Pacquiao because of anything that Mayweather or his camp said. Additionally, even he could prove that he lost money because of PED allegations how can he prove that the money that he lost was because of something Mayweather said or because of something Malignaggi or someone else said.
Speaking of Paulie Malignaggi, I wonder why he isn’t named in this lawsuit? It’s quite shocking that his name isn’t apart of the lawsuit as he has been the most vocal advocate for the Manny Pacquiao steroid rumors.
Malignaggi thinks the boxing media has dropped the ball, and not exercised due diligence in examining the possibility that Manny has used PEDs. In a recent interview he was quoted as saying….
“I understand most people like Manny, and not Floyd. Just cause that’s the case doesn’t mean Manny might not be cheating. It’s nothing to do with him personally. But I call a spade a spade. Too many people avoid the possibilities because Manny’s a likable person. He’s got that front, his country loves him. That front works like crazy. Floyd plays the bad guy, but he’s natural. Just don’t downplay the fact that Manny might be cheating. You have to open your eyes and at least be willing to look at it. This is bigger than me. The fact that the fight is not being made, you have to question the integrity of Pacquiao.”
Malignaggi was then asked why he has been so vocal about this issue and said “I don’t like cheaters,” “This is not baseball. You’re not just hitting home runs. You have to worry about peoples’ lives. Miguel Cotto in my opinion has been beaten by two cheaters. Manny if he’s cheating is taking away from guys who are doing things the right way. His team is reneging on their words.”

If seems most of you folks dont bother to understand the psyche of asians. First there is an unwritten honor code that always needed to be protected and he/she will fight to the death if you try to dish it. Second, asians are very supertitious on most things. Third, conditions must be written exactly and no deviations whatsoever, other than that its off...so many more...to make it short, in terms of fighting, its their fist who does most of the talking.
ReplyDeletepsyche of Asians???? Hahahahahaha....the Filipinos do not live by Asian standards.
ReplyDeletepacquiao dont do drugs you pot head

ReplyDeleteniggers, you are nuts!!! just bring mayweather in the ring and let's see if his fist is fast like his damn mouth...
If I'm Pacquiao I will accept all the kind of test Mayweather are asking. As long as 70/30 for Manny instead of 50/50.
