Manny Pacquiao was yesterday being lined up to challenge for a title in an eighth different weight division with his fight against Floyd Mayweather junior looking doomed.
Talks have failed to resolve a row over Pacquiao rejecting Mayweather's demand for random blood tests for performance enhancing drugs.
Instead of taking on the American in Las Vegas on March 13, Pacquiao may face New York-based Yuri Foreman for the Israeli's WBA lightmiddleweight crown a week later.
Although negotiations with Mayweather's camp are still going on, Filipino Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, was not optimistic.
"We contacted Manny and his position is firm, irrevocable," he said. "He instructed us to pursue another fight, period. I don't see the fight happening now."
